Chilled Water Systems

The chilled water distribution systems play a vital role in many cooling applications on board ships and submarines including cooling air that circulates through vital electronics equipment, ship control systems, radar, sonar and cooling air for onboard air-conditioning systems to ensure a pleasant working environment for the crew and passengers.

Flowmaster enables the designers of this type of system to investigate many different what-if scenarios based on demand conditions put on the system before it is built which may save time and money when the system installed and commissioned.

Applications include modelling the reliable operation of the system in extremes of climate such as arctic and tropical conditions; pipe, pump, and orifice sizing; system flow balancing and spare capacity to safeguard for future demands on the system.

Scenarios where you could use Flowmaster to solve a problem:

  • Reliable operation of the system in extremes of climate such as artic and tropical conditions
  • Pipe, pump, and orifice sizing
  • System flow balancing
  • Spare capacity to safe guard for future demands on the system

“The ability to integrate Flowmaster into a front end spreadsheet program, enabled us to provide our engineers with a fully capable and adaptable simulation
package, able to be rapidly and easily tuned to actual real world onboard operating line-ups.”
