Flowmaster Korean UGM 2008

The Korean Flowmaster UGM 2008 held in Seoul at the end of September, titled "The Future of Fluid Systems Simulation" saw the launch of Flowmaster V7.6 General Systems and V7.6 Automotive.

The event, which was attended by 90 key Chief Engineers and Senior Managers from a wide range of industries, provided the opportunity for a preview of the V7.6 release and also provided a forum to share experiences and to meet other Flowmaster users.

Flowmaster launches V7.6 across its range of system simulation tools

Flowmaster, provider of world class system simulation software launches Flowmaster V7.6, the latest system simulation software across its product range: V7 General Systems, V7 Automotive, V7 Aerospace and V7 Gas Turbine.

The development of Flowmaster V7.6 has been driven by the need for companies to reduce development time and costs, whilst maximising quality and performance. Flowmaster showcases new version of Systems Simulation Software at French UGM
8th October 2008

Twenty five representatives from France’s leading power generation, aerospace and water distribution industries attended Flowmaster France’s UGM in Paris. Delegates were given an advanced preview of Flowmaster V7.6  and had the opportunity to discuss future product development with Flowmaster’s Product and Marketing Director, Morgan Jenkins.

Delegates enjoyed a range of presentations and live demonstrations from both Flowmaster and fellow users of the software, including a case study presented by V L’huiller, Astrium on their use of Flowmaster in the development of the Jules Verne (ATV) propulsion systems and a presentation discussing the challenges in system optimisation by J. Lanusse, Account Manager of ESTECO.

Flowmaster announce new Automotive System Simulation Software at FISITA World Automotive Congress in Munich

Flowmaster announced their latest systems simulation software for the automotive industry, V7.6 Automotive at FISITA 2008 World Automotive Congress - The Future of Automobiles and Mobility, held in Munich. The congress comprised presentations from leading engineers, scientists and specialists concerned with every aspect of the research, design, development and production of vehicles and their systems.

During the congress, Flowmaster held a launch event to preview the latest system simulation software, Flowmaster V7.6 Automotive to key individuals within the automotive industry.

Flowmaster launch first commercial simulation software dedicated for the Gas Turbine industry at ASME Turbo Expo 2008

ASME Turbo Expo is recognized as the world's premier gas turbine event where experts from all the influential organisations in the gas turbine sector came together to share ideas and best practises. This week long event, hosted this year in Berlin Germany, gave delegates the opportunity to attend a vast range of technical presentations, short courses and to meet suppliers and fellow delegates to discuss ideas during the networking sessions.

ARAI to set Engine R&D with Flowmaster V7 Automotive

In December 2007 the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) purchased their first Flowmaster V7 Automotive license. Flowmaster was selected after rigorous evaluation as part of ARAI’s overall R&D, Testing and Certification strategy.

ARAI is a premier automotive R&D institute in India offering design and development services to its customers in the area of engines, NVH, structural dynamics and CAE.  ARAI extends technical assistance to the Government of India in the formulation of automotive standards.

Flowmaster V7 Automotive is an industry dedicated fluid and thermal system simulation software tool. Built upon the Flowmaster V7 platform, V7 Automotive combines the same proven architecture and GUI with specific automotive component libraries and advanced automotive systems modelling functionality.  Flowmaster’s architecture allows users to integrate with existing design and manufacturing systems and co-simulate with other leading CAE/CFD tools.

Press Release: Flowmaster V7 Gas Turbine - The first commercial product to address the needs of Secondary Air & Fluid Mixing applications for the CFD system simulation market.

Flowmaster V7 Gas Turbine brings the first commercial product to address the needs of Secondary Air and Fluid Mixing applications to the CFD system simulation market.  With an integrated swirl solver engineers are able to calculate the swirl generated by rotating components in a gas turbine engine and geometrically induced swirl such as is generated by preswirl nozzles. Through the use of complex cavity components and cavity wizard, Flowmaster utilizes the swirl solver to simulate the secondary air systems of gas turbine engines. This capability is also flexible enough that it allows individual companies to customize the software to use their proprietary correlations for the flows through these rotating passageways.  In addition, Flowmaster V7 Gas Turbine enables engineers to model the mixing of multiple liquids or gases, calculating the fluid properties of the mixture during the analysis.  This is particularly useful when modeling steam injection in combustors and fuel systems of power generation turbines utilizing syngases.

The product also incorporates a catalogue of industry-tailored components, including labyrinth seals, rotating cavities, annular passages and specialized orifices, all of which are customisable. Users can build and customise their own component catalogues - reducing project time and improving the quality and repeatability of initial designs.

'Open House' success in Germany

In February, Flowmaster GmbH held an “open house” for its customers at their new offices in Idstein, Germany.

The event was attended by many of Flowmaster GmbH’ customers in particular from the Automotive, Water, Process and Power industries and was primarily aimed to familiarise them with Flowmaster V7 and to introduce the new Industry versions.  The event also provided an ideal opportunity for informal discussions as well as hands-on experience to appreciate the full potential of Flowmaster V7 and the capabilities of the V7 Industry products.
