BMW Motoren, Steyr couples 3D CFD with Flowmaster system simulations

BMW Motoren GmbH, Steyr, combine 3D CFD with system simulations to analyse the cooling system of a six-cylinder automotive diesel engine. They found that results of the co-simulation were an improvement over the independent analyses. The results show that the original assumptions were inaccurate and that the original design had been sub-optimal.
